The sport of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) surfing is an old pastime which dates back to the original Waikiki beachboys. With the emergence of lighter, shorter boards in the 60′s the sport virtually disappeared.

Since couple years, SUP surfing has experienced a modern renaissance and has now exploded around the globe and in Cabarete. The fun and fitness benefits of SUP has been recognised from the world’s surfing elite right through to beginners.

All our SUP classes includes all the equipment needed (board, paddle, leash). We suggest to wear comfortable clothes and sunscreen. Hat/visor/lip balm recommended. Croakies for sunglasses are recommended. Bring an extra change of clothes/towel that will be locked while we are on the water.

Intro to Paddle Boarding:

1 to 1.5 hrs

Our quality lesson cover the aspect of posture, balance, equipment advice (SUP board size, paddle length), how to paddle, propel yourself forward, how to perform a turn, etc….

We will be right by your side the whole time, coaching you into the water, out of the water and paddle boarding right next to you.

After completing the Intro to Paddle Boarding lesson with us you can join us for any class on the schedule, from Sunrise/Sunset Tour, Intro to paddle Surfing, to Yoga4SUP classes, to our SUP Fit Class or BootCamp.

Intro to SUP Surfing:

1 to 1.5 hrs
If you are interested in learning how to ride a SUP in the waves, you have come to the right place. We get you started the right way and will teach you how to ride waves in a safe way, the surf stroke, paddle over white water, the turn and advanced maneuvers.

SUP surfing adds a whole new dimension to your surfing experience. It allows you to catch waves earlier and faster, gives you the ability to surf multiple breaks in a session, and turns waves that were once not surfed due to being considered average into a fun uncrowded surf spot.

Sunrise Paddle Tour:

1 to 1.5 hrs

Awaken to the serenity of the Dominican Coastline while watching the sun blossoms from the magnificent ocean.

A combination of peace and tranquility combined with just enough exercise to get you blood flowing and your body energized for the day. The perfect way to start the day.

Prerequisites- For those that have taken the Intro to Paddle Board Lesson with Audrey or can demonstrate equivalent experience including forward stroke, sweep stroke and brake.

Yoga for SUP

1.5 hrs

Enjoy the combination of Stand UpPaddle boarding and Yoga. The board makes a fine yoga mat and the extra balance required by being on the water intensifies the yoga routine. The peacefulness of floating on the water combines nicely with the meditative nature of yoga.

This SUP Yoga class is practiced on the board, in the water comprised of basic and more challenging yoga moves that also incorporate the paddle. The class is full of laughs and also has a very Zen quality to it.

Yoga4SUP is a perfect work out from your head to your toes. No knowledge of Stand Up Paddle boarding or Yoga required! Anyone can do this fun, empowering class. There is a short explication about how to paddle board at the beginning of the class.

The fast growing sport of stand up paddle boarding is one of the best ways to tone and strengthen just about every inch of your body. It also happens to be extremely fun and allows you to get out into the beautiful ocean waters of the Dominican Republic. Welcome to the ‘water gym’!

SUP ‘ing is a combination of cross training and pilates. Totally low impact, it will improve your cardio- endurance, aerobic and an-aerobic but at the same time you get a ful body work out, targeting arms, abs, thighs and butts – all at once!

SUP ‘ing improves balance and co-ordination and builds confidence in and out of the water!
